When should my Fans be on?

The fans MUST be on whenever the Lights are on. Failing to do so could cause serious damage or injury.

What is the recommended photoperiod?
Generally, you want your Main Lights to be on for 8-10 hours per day. If you have actinic lighting installed on an independent circuit, you can turn them on an hour before the main lights and an hour after the main lights to simulate sunrise/sunset.

My fans are a bit loud, do you have any recommendations?
The Fans for the Upgrade kit were chosen to provide the optimal operating temperature for your Compact Flourescent lighting system. Although this optimizes performance and bulb life, you can still get safe operation of your lighting system if you replace your standard DC power supply with a variable voltage DC power supply providing at least 7v.

How often should I change my bulbs?
Compact Flourescent bulbs have a general lifespan of 6-9 months. We recommend replacing the bulbs within this time period to avoid spectral shifts or decreased lighting output.

I just installed my upgrade kit, but the lights dont turn on.
Verify that the orientation of the Ballast Disconnect cables align with the "notch" on the ballast box.

Verify that all connections are secure and that there are not any loose wires/connections.

Verify that the unit is receiving AC wall power.

iCA 2.0 nanochiller
When should my ICA Fan be on?
The ICA Fan must be on at all times during the ICA's operation. In addition, the fans MUST be on for at least 5 minutes after the unit has shut off. Failure to do so could cause serious damage or injury. To avoid any issues, most users will run the ICA fans 24/7.

My ICA Chiller is not cooling.
Verify that the Polarity on the DC Jack Plug is correct and that "Tip" aligns with "+".
Installing with the incorrect Polarity would result in the HEATING of your tank.

Should my Fans be Blowing In or Out?
If you have a stock (unmodified system) - Blowing OUT
If you have a modded system - Blowing IN

Is there an "in" or "out" nozzle?
No. As long as there is water flowing through the ICA device, it will effectively transfer heat.
